Client: ComQi (Burlington, Canada) | Year: 2012 - 2014; 2015-2018

Having worked with ComQi in 2012 - 2014 as lead UI/UX, I worked with them again in 2015 - 2018 leading the UX and UI design of their client projects as well as the complete redesign of one of their core software products, OnSite™ (formerly On Site Manager). A combination of media content management, scheduling and reporting, their products focus on providing retailers the tools they need to understand and satisfy their customers needs in-store.

OnSite was designed and developed from the ground up as responsive, cloud-based web service enabling location staff to update their on site digital signage screens quickly and easily. The product was developed with a focus on updating the technology and infrastructure, ease-of-use and real-time feedback. It includes a full approvals and permissioning process, scheduling capabilities as well as an easy-to-use graphic editing tool to create quality graphics for on site messaging and display–all of which were top requirements for clients. The redesign was focused on reducing setup friction, improving the scheduling and permissioning process, and improve customer facing design standards with the built-in graphic editing tools.

Working with clients, account managers, developers, QA specialists and executives, I worked with the team to simplify and improve the user experience amidst complex processes and concepts. Together we strategized and planned the user experience of new product features while balancing usability requirements, business requirements and architecture/technical requirements.

I use research, wireframes, interviews, user flows, IA diagrams, content maps and interactive prototypes to distill complex workflows and tasks to simplified and user friendly processes and user interfaces.

During my time at ComQi, I’ve worked on various projects including:

  • Complex content management systems

  • Kiosks and interactive touch displays

  • Mobile apps and interfaces

  • Video on demand apps

  • Graphic content editors

  • Game experiences

  • Ecommerce mobile web experiences

ComQi's clients include Fortune 500 companies including global retailers and hospitality companies.
